This documentary in two parts, built in the 1939-1949 timeline, revisits an extremely difficult period for populations.

During the four years of Occupation, the daily life is rushed, everything become weighing, overwhelming. On a daily basis, everyone will attempt to find something to feed, learning to manage, skew, adapt, just for surviving.

After Liberation, and until the end of parties, shortages, and their disastrous consequences on health, will continue, driving social movements of a rare intensity, among the most important of the 20th century.

In view of the consequences on the politic life, during the war and after the Liberation, that this obsession with food generated, supply become clearly the “crux of the matter”…
